What a Hoot! DD & DL Meet in Cut-N-Shoot

Armed with SoWal stickers, DD & DL met in person for the first time at Cut-N-Shoot, Texas. DD was on her way to SoWal and DL was headed to Texas. They made impromtu plans to meet and determined Cut & Shoot was where their travel paths would cross. What a memorable first meeting. Lots of funnn. Cut-N-Shoot will never be the same. We missed Miss Kitty and a host of other SoWallers. May have to hold a convention here sometime -- or maybe not.

Cut and Shoot, Texas is about six miles from Conroe and about 45 minutes from Houston. If you are taking some of the backroads from SoWal to a shortcut to Bryan, Texas off I-10 at Beaumont or an interesting path down I-45 from Dallas, you'll pass by here on State 105. Lots of rumors of where the name came from. Some say around 1916 there was an argument about who was going to get to preach at the local church and some young boy, said he'd come around the corner and "cut and shoot" to help settle the dispute. Population is just a little over 1,500, I think. There's a post office, police station and a gift shop. Lots of pickups with guns in the back.

Yea. The fire ants were bad. But, considering where we were, we just brought out our guns and started blasting the H*** out of them. We were having to stand around and take pictures with the SoWal logo. I lost mine in the process. Somebody please bring me a new one. My car is naked without it.
