I also liked him better in 2000 when he was more of a maverick but there is no denying that he is a war hero and can work with folks on both sides of the aisle and that is something that we definitely need now.

In 2000, he was a lot more impressive to Independants and Democrats, like myself. At that point, he did not kowtow to the religious zealots that are in the Republican family. He now lacks real ambition and drive to me, like Fred Thompson-- they say they are serious, but I don't see any fire at all.

McCain has played that "hero" card far too much for my liking. It's his fallback when he is attacked, or his position is questioned. I do like that he is somewhat of a centrist on some issues.

So I just heard McCain state that he will go after Osama Bin Laden and he will get him, because McCain knows how to make it work. My question is, if he knows how to get Bin Laden, why hasn't he done it? Also, this entire war in Iraq used Bin Laden as the reason why we were there, so if McCain gets Bin Laden, does he really think the war in Iraq has been won?

Tootsie, if you want to see who is like dubya, look at the Democratic Congress. Under the Democratic Congress, they have passed way more W items, than were passed during the Republican Congress. Other than Ron Paul, all of the Dem and Rep candidates, act very much like W. Some are hiding under the sheep's skin at the moment, but they are all the same, though very likely, much more intelligent than W.
