:lolabove: You are not alone....I thought I was the only one without an Ipod.

That makes three of us. I wouldn't know how to work the thing if I had one. But, I bet I could send it to NoHall or PV or BR and get some good tunes.

I'll come personally load it and give you a tutorial. Of course, you'll have to board me for a couple of days while I'm there...:D

I can't even afford a hotel room, much less an iPod! (I got a little iPod shuffle as a birthday present from my dear mother...)

Well, if and when I ever evolve into this century, I will send ya a bus ticket and you can come to Texas and give me that tutorial!! :D

TreeFrog, which Podcasts are your favorites? I already admitted my addiction to "This American Life," so it's your turn now. ;-)

NPR Music - Music, commentary, and interviews excerpted from All Things Considered and other NPR shows. Covers all kinds of music, literally. Recent podcasts have included Mexican buskers who do acoustic Led Zepp covers, a high school choir competition, remembrance of Duke Ellington's birthday, a preview of new spring alt-rock releases, a Macy Gray interview, you get the picture.

NPR All Songs Considered - Podcast only, no broadcast. Younger artists in the less-commericial pop and rock. Good recent shows were Nellie McKay, Modest Mouse, Fountains of Wayne. The antithesis of hip-hop, country, and American Idol.

In the Groove - Jazz from Connecticut public radio. Ken Laster hosts. A different theme each week. Full cuts, unlike many music podcasts worried about copyright issues.

Florida Stories - From WUSF. Interviews from their oral history project. Folks telling about their personal histories in FL. Much more interesting than it sounds.

I can't remember which of these are already in iTunes' list and which I found myself. If you can't find the URLs I'll post them.

We HAD one of those, we've had a Rio and now Mr OL has a Sandisk. We also have 2 nanos and a little clip on shuffle. By far I like the nanos and the shuffle. Mr OL really likes his but he hasn't really used iTunes. He likes all his old cd's and loads them accordingly. The kids and I like more current music and use iTunes. It is sooo user friendly. Yes, it can be frustrating at times ( upgrades) but overall pretty easy. Hey, they even withstand the washing machine!!! Sam's is working fine...still a little cloudy but so what!!!

The creative muvu that we had was junk. I did buy it on Amazon as refurbished I think. I still paid like $80 for it and looking back, that was a mistake. The Muvu with the flip out USB might be better than what we had.

Thanks OL for the heads up on the MuVu. I just hate to pay $150 for something I KNOW I will not use that much. I'm more like Mr. OL and would load some of my favorite CDs plus I would like to have the option of listening to the radio. I don't think any of the Ipods have FM radio. Oh well, back to the drawing board. One thing I have NEVER been accused of is making hasty decisions. Indecisive is my middle name. :bang:
