And did you all notice that I brought the 60 degree SoWal weather back home with me? Let's see how long it stays. ;-)

BTW, I never thought a beach vacation without the beach could be so much funn. Only goes to show that you don't need your swimsuit and swimming water to enjoy yourself. We rode our bikes for miles and walked alll over the place (blisters to show for it). And of course you all know we socialized up the wazoo.

Atlanta, GA.
Had a Tornado Warning here in my county tonight at around 6 pm, I stood in my garage with the door up and watched it roll in, then the hail came...and came and came. Hail the size of dimes to quarters piled up like a dusting of snow in my neighborhood. The lightning was that serious kind, which is not like the usual summer time thunderstorm lightning. Supercell thunderstorm lightning reminds me of a flash bulb, whereas other lightning is more like a very large static charge, I guess. Anyways...I notice the difference between the two  .

Mermaid- glad y'all are home safe! It was funn following you in pics!

We had tornadoes, then double rainbows. It doesn't get much weirder or more beautiful than that!

Great photos, Mermaid.

Unfortunately, we arrived back in GA to find our daughter's car damaged by a hail storm on Wednesday, according to the local newspaper. We'll have to wait until it's daylight to see if we have roof damage to our home, which many of our neighbors had.

Not fair! It's in the 40s and rainy in the city.
It sucks going from the Sunset House to an apartment the size of the deck! :bang:
Back to the ole grind... :sosad:

So glad to hear y'all arrived home safe and sound. Not a great travel day for sure, especially when you are leaving the greatest place on earth! The upside of this freaky weather is we have neither aircon nor heat on....utility companys....HA!!!!

Good luck on the hail damage report, BR. bsmart, I hope your hair isn't still standing on end!!! Kimmi...I did the exact opposite of you...got home and ran in the bathroom and held my arms out straight and twirled around. Awesome! Mermaid...have you had any urges to dance on your tables at home????

I thought the fog was waaaay cool. It added a different dimension to an already spectacular landscape.

We left the beach about 4 pm on New Years day and drove (with hazards on!) through the worst of that thunderstorm. You should have seen the lightening bolts going north on 331. If you closed your eyes, they were burned on your retinas. Multiple bolts..boom boom boom. It was really exciting ( yeah yeah, hold the comments about fools rushing in where angels fear to tread...we drove carefully ;-) )

Glad to be back home in Indiana to see what all my SoWallers have been up to all week!

i missed you mermaid - i can update you very quickly on what went on in indiana - RAIN !!

HA! You know how the grass is always greener on the other side? It is so dry here...I swear tumbleweeds are predicted today!
