Yup- awesome.

Our favorite Christmas album growing up was It's a Spike Jones Christmas- all the goofiness and sound effects memorized. So when I found it on CD I was very happy so that each of the three of us could have a copy. My husband was amazed by the silliness of it when we were first together but now he sings along with Jingle Bells in pig Latin.

Now this album was our Christmas when we were kids. I think my dad had a Spike Jones album for every occasion.

As a kid, my favorite was, "Over the river and through the woods, to Grandmother's house we go..."

Now, it is "Grandma got ran over by a reindeer..."

Oh, SJ. this just made me laugh out loud.

It reminded me of a Christmas memory from 1997...my son was stationed on Guam and I went over to spend Christmas with him. There had been a super typhoon on Dec 18 and there was no power anywhere on the Island, except from generators...we went out to dinner at one of the hotels.

It was interesting with only the bare minimum of electricity...but, just as we were finishing more power came on...and in the mall (attached to the hotel) we suddenly heard Christmas music: Yes, it was "Grandma got Run over by a Reindeer" ----in Japanese!

What a Christmas memory that is!
