I'll ask hubby. He was a board chair of the AORC (Automotive Occupant Restraints Council). Now THEY had some parties! Bermuda, Palm Springs, Las Vegas, La Jolla, etc.

I thought about those a while back. I used to have an Infiniti (think it was about a 1993 or maybe it was the 1996) with those. They were very annoying. I think there were some deaths from them not working right.

WHY are you thinking about those?

Here's what hubby said:
"Poor design, uncomfortable, easy to defeat (people would just lock them behind themselves), not as effective, expensive to manufacture, people would use them yet not use the lap belt which is an extremely dangerous situation for the passenger and for potential litigation in case of an accident, etc."

Other than that, they were great.
