Ham or lamb for your Easter at your supper table? Eating in or dining out? Who's coming for dinner or who's invited you for dinner?

If Merman and I didn't have reservations at the Ritz in Chicago, we'd most certainly be at Caliza pool in Alys Beach. That menu looks fabulous!

BR!!! I am so glad the Blue Ridge Grill is still around. We used to dine there all the time when we lived in Georgia. Merman's office was just down the street so it was really convenient to meet him there for lunch. We had some pretty good meals there.
We love that place.

My nephew's/godchild's christening party was there.

It's one of the favorite restaurants of our beloved minister, Dr. Gil Watson, who is the minister at Northside United Methodist Church right down the street from BRG. He visited me at least once a week when I was hospitalized in Atlanta due to my high-risk pregnancy with Beach Jacket. He christened Beach Jacket. BTW he has a special table at Blue Ridge Grill. The staff knows what he and his wife, whom we also adore, orders. Daughter plans to ask him to perform her marriage ceremony on June 19, 2010.

Easter is a special enough day but your story--and the place you are dining at to celebrate it--add another layer of wonder to it.

For the first time in forever, I'm not cooking. I'll be in the Texas Hill country, looking at bluebonnets and having some funn with old friends.

Ha! You'll never turn back! It's so relaxing not to put on a big feast. Last year when my 77 year old father decided to become a Catholic, we celebrated with brunch at the Ritz in Naples. Oh my cod cod cod cod it was fabulous! So this year Merman and I decided to carry on the tradition. I don't care if I have to pinch pennies for another season, I must be at the Ritz for Easter. It's forever connected in my mind to my parents. And if I can't have my mother cook Easter supper for me, I want the chefs at the Ritz to do it...they're the only ones who cook as good as she does.)

Oh, I don't know. I have a feeling I haven't cooked my last one. But girl, I know what you mean about the Ritz. Haven't been to the one in Naples, but have been to Boston. Have we talked about this before? Anyway, it was one of the most memorable meals I've had.

Sounds great. I love to cook on Easter, but because daughter is in ATL, Mom is in Peachtree City, I can't get everyone together at my house to cook for all of them.

I want to see the bluebonnets in TX. Nephew1/godson was born on April 8 and I was in Dallas for the labor and delivery, but I don't remember the bluebonnets. I'll have to roadtrip in the spring sometime to visit you, MK, and my nephews.
Happy Easter, DD. you!
