Twice a year Peacock Alley in Dallas (where my sister lives) has a sale on their high thread-count sheets. For the beach house my sister bought me (of course, I paid her for them) Peacock Alley sheets and duvet covers for the entire house. They were selling twin sheets for $10, and queen and king not much higher. Amazing.
My personal favorite sheets are the ones made out of T-shirt fabric that I bought at Rich's several years ago on sale for $40 for an entire king set. They are so cozy. We are sleeping on those now. The rental company had sheets on our bed so scratchy that it was like sleeping on sandpaper.
BTW just so someone doesn't slam me for not leaving them out for renters, the rental companies I've talked to require their own sheets - it's just too complicated for them to keep track of each owner's personal sheets, especially in the summer when they have so many check-ins to deal with on the weekends.
