When I was a baby in my playpen, my parents would sit down in the evenings and drink Dubonnet apertif wine. Sometimes, especially when I cried, they would dip my pacifier in their drinks. It made me sleepy, or so they claimed. Anyway they started calling me Dubie. Pretty soon everybody called me Dubie. Eventually they stopped when they saw my exasperation (I think I was 12). My husband, though, delightedly revived it, but he spells it Doobie. He is the ONLY person allowed to call me that.
Someone I haven't seen in years text messaged me "dubie" a couple of months ago. The thing won't die.

Bdarg and I went to the last Dead show in Louisville- early 1990's. Due to a scheduling snafu, they were at the fairgrounds at the same time as the Honda GoldWing convention- the Wingdingers were in town. I was working in the convention business at the time, and my company was working the Wingdinger convention... we had a lot of calls regarding those "pot smoking hippies in camper vans"....bdarg and I laughed- it was a bunch of rich kid wannabe hippies in BMW's selling PB&Js' and playing like they were really poor!
There was also a DoBee and a Don'tBee on Romper Room. :clap_1: TFT...you are a DoBee!!!!
my uncles on my pop's side all called me egg - my mom reminded me of that the other night. not sure why ...
my new nickname from my nephew is "big sister". my sis was explaining to him the whole brother/sister thing since she is due in july, and my boy just ain't getting the hang of it yet. she told him i was her big sister, so now he thinks he's my big sister too. i could eat him up !!
