If you truly feel fortunate to live in freedom, and if you take the time to really read this and to truly understand it, then is it not your/our duty to apply it to todays government.

Many of the things stated in this wonderful work have been violated by our current leaders and system, not republican/democrat, but all our leaders. When the Government becomes above the law as some of us have seen for several years, but a majority have only recently witnessed with Scooter boy, then a time for the people to rise up is due as this work calls for.

In an earlier post that I placed in regard to impeachment, you NOHall responded with a good grief let the Government due its job, well this Government can not and does not due its job.

I ask you to re-read this work and then re-think our freedoms.

Scooter was thrown under the bus on an unfruitful fishing expedition by Fitzgerald, and the only thing wrong with what Bush did is that he didn't issue a full pardon. I do agree that impeachment was meant to be used much more than it actually is.

You are right about Scooter. First there was no crime comitted in that you can't out someone that is not covert by the agencies own definitions. After the prosecutor new this he still called Scooter in for long secions of questioning until they got him to slip up. That was wrong and the prosecutor should be held to account. This would be like the cops coming to you and saying look just help us out and everything will be fine you have not done anything wrong and so you should talk to us. Then ask you questions time after time for hours at a time until you make a mistake. That is why as much as I hate it you should always have an atorney present during questioning and you should never let your car or home be searched without a warrant. He put his carreer and family at risk becuase he thought that type of cooperation would look good for the administration and he got caught up in political infighting. Bush should give him a full pardon and franky if he doesn't I will think even less of him. If you or anyone is accused of a crime you should never offer up information or access without an atorney.

Scooter Libby was found guilty on 4 counts by a jury. I see no reason beyond politics as usual that his sentence was commuted. He may have been the fall guy, but once again crime apparently has no consequences if you know the right people!

...and the real question is what did he lie to cover up?

nothing! that is the point he simply was inaccurate about his account of events when compared to the other 15 times they asked him the same thing. Of course the jury found him guilty they have very detailed instructions and yes the fact is he lied but he did so becuase he had been asked the same things over and over and after enough of that you don't remember what you have said. The political part of this is that he was being questioned when it had already been established that a crim had not been comitted.

Bingo. As for the goodwill comment, the Bush administration has made terrible policy when trying to purchase unrequited goodwill.

it may take awhile, but I'll wager that the truth will eventually come out; just as it did in Watergate and Iran-Contra...there is no way someone as savvy as Scotter Libbey "forgot" what he said! Give me a break!

So you believe that an incredibly aggressive prosecutor working for several years with a huge staff missed something?

No, he didn't miss it. As he said, repeatedly, Scooter "threw sand in the umpires' face". Because Scooter lied, he could not get to the truth. Scooter is the gatekeeper...

Even if what you said was true, Libby had every right to do that as Fitzgerald already knew that the underlying crime was not committed.
