That outage was weird, huh?

I worked on "Forever Young" Birthday Party plans for my childhood girlfriend whose 49th B'day is this month. Her strategy for totally ignoring next year's Big 5-0 is to celebrate each & every month of HER 49th year.

Since I am totally gooned up & excited for my 50th birthday (NEXT year) THEN....we'll celebrate each & every month of MY 50th year.

THIS is the KICK-OFF par-tay for 2 solid years of :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:!!!

 ...50 is so three years ago.

I wasn't going to say anything but since you've mentioned "50," mine is coming up this September and I had no idea that SoWal was down because I spent the night surfing the net. My dear sweet Merman sprung a surprise on me!!

He's taking me to Oxford for my 50th birthday, to a ball.

I kid you not. Black tie and the whole shebang. Not in honor of my 50th  but isn't it a nice coincidence that it's being held on my birthday? His college at Oxford is holding a "Gaudy," for alumni of Merman's year. "Gaudy" is fancy English for a bash. A big bash and we're going! There are several of Merman's friends that I still haven't met yet, but I feel like I know them because of the Christmas cards and letters through the years. Now I get to meet them in the flesh. I'm so excited about going.

We also have enough time to spend a few nights in London and somewhere else. So last night I was on every tourist info site I could get my hands on. It was funn funn funn. I'm going on a trip!!!!

Mermy, what a grayt way to spend a landmark birthday. and you'll be in antique heaven.
Maybe you could make your way over to Bath or Glastonbury as well for a night and you can sowal the abbeys or the Roman hot springs.

This is the funniest thing, because I have a sneaking suspicion that Merman is even more excited about this than me. Not because of going to the UK--he's there all the time on business--but that he gets to show me his old stomping grounds at Oxford. I think he's enjoying the prospect of revisiting his youth.

You and my mother...I called to tell her my news and the first thing she said (no joke) was "EBAY!!! We'll get you a gown on EBAY!!!" and darned if she's not talking to me on the phone and clicking on EBAY listings at the same time. That woman is completely incorrigible. ;-) I like the idea of feather and sequins, though. I bet a lot of these Brits have stiff upper lips. A few feathers could shake them up. I wonder if they'll let me dance on any bars?? :yikes:

That's way cool Mermy!!!
It does kinda take the sting out of my big "0" birthday, doesn't it. :D
