Not all other kids. My remaining one at home's more adult than kid now (near 17, HS Junior), and still subject to the resident censors (Mom & Dad). When not much younger (3-4 years) the Fox stuff was off his plate [seems like for a long long time, the only thing on our tube, during the limited amounts of time we let it be on, was Nick stuff]. Some post 10pm (EST) fare, like FX channel stuff), still is, along with most of the raunchier "R" movies (thankfully, he self-censors now for the most part - don't know what we did to deserve this kid, but we're pretty thankful).RiverOtter said:Mine do not watch any Fox cartoons. Simpsons, Family Guy, King Of The Hill. I know "all of the other kids watch it" but not ours.

We subscribe to digital cable in Atl. MOST of the channels will never come in ("this channel should be available shortly").Rita said:You probably threatened to wash his mouth out with TOAD!![]()
We don't even subscribe to cable for that reason. (Miss some good stuff though - guess it's a tradeoff)
Same diff, I suppose, except I pay for the censorship...

Love the Sirius radio, *hate* that we don't get "Local on the 8's" from the weather channel anymore! (just the national overview...)
On the other topic, i can see why parents might not let their kids watch Simpsons or Family Guy. But King of the Hill seems pretty benign, i'd think. it doesnt seem to push the envelope like the others, just is kind of a spot-on social commentary. i don't know, maybe i'm not paying enough attention. But man, that IS the neighborhood & neighbors i grew up with, he nails it. i even had a neighbor named Bubba.

Funny - never thought of that, but being a boy, he might have considered that a challenge (humm, wonder what that tastes like?)
We skip the nickle-and-dime-you-to-death premium stuff like the HBOs & Showtimes, movies on demand, etc. Excluding FX and such, most of what we get is broadcast type fare so not much to worry about there.Rita said:We don't even subscribe to cable for that reason. Practical max distance used to be something 300 meters without adding attenuators and/or inline amps, though nowdays, I think they can run a bit further with the newer heavily (quad) shielded cable.Baumhauer, man, he mumbles n hmsmemer, mumble, mumble, KILLS, man...katie blue said:But King of the Hill seems pretty benign, i'd think. it doesnt seem to push the envelope like the others, just is kind of a spot-on social commentary. i don't know, maybe i'm not paying enough attention.
