After Allstate pulled out of Florida, we just asked our agent to find another company for us. We now use St. Johns Insurance Co., but you might want to try using an agent to find a policy for your specific situation. Citizen's and Royal Palm were others we considered, but St. Johns had the best rate for us.

anyone heard of first protective also called frontline ins co?i've been quoted a few times with good rates and state of fla has them rated pretty good.the state of fla guaranty fund gurantees up to 300k per house if a ins co goes under

Thanks. I thought he was asking for information on Inns and small rental companies, and couldn't make sense of anything.

I use Great Florida Insurance, simply the cheapest I could find. Problem with Homeowners insurance is it doesn't cover anything when you really need it to. Wind and Flood are a seperate policy. When a hurricane comes, homeowners insurance is useless. My house is well built, and if there is a problem, repair expense is minimal because I do it myself. When you consider the deductible, the cost of materials doesn't nearly come close.
