In spite of the interesting mosquito discussion, we've still seen no reply or additional information/explanation from the original poster, re: "dispersants being sprayed in Seagrove."

It seems irresponsible & flaky to me, to put up something like that & then, after many of us have asked, to still refuse to elaborate, retract, etc.

That is why it was immediately locked.

Same thing for my yard, I am at a dead end, have a NO SPAY SIGN up but they go 50ft from my drive then start spraying, I feel its very wrong to not at least give me a chance to take my dogs and go inside before being doused with this crap!! I am VERY VERY unhappy about this.

Call the SWCMCD (267-2112)and ask that you be notified when spraying is scheduled in your zone. They will need your name, address and phone number to determine which zone you live in to update the database with your request. You will then receive a phone call around 3:00pm if the conditions warrant spraying in your zone that evening. The eact time they spray at your residenence is not known but the drive can give a close estimate based on history.

FYI-

The units are controlled by a GPS. It turns off the flow of adulticide 100ft before reaching your property and then back on 100ft past your property. The engine in the ULV spayer continues to run, but no adilticide is flowing to the spray head.

The GPS also stops the flow if the speed of the vehicle falls below 2.5mph or exceeds 25mph. This is done to keep the system within the proper application rates approved by DEP and EPA. It also prevents a vehicle from pulling up behind he truck at a stop sign or traffic light and being coated while sitting there.

If a truck turns around in your drive-you may actually be receiving no treatment because of the start/stop of the flow. The operator can do a manual override of the flow, but most do not.

Hope this helps.
