I hear you, but if you walk about the Country, you will discover that many people don't have their own opinion about poliTRICKS. They don't realize or care that the Fox is guarding the Hen house.

And those are the first people to start *****in the loudest when things dont go their way...:bang:

All over the place
The problem is exactly as stated: People do not (cannot, same net result) think for themselves. Their lack of understanding of the BIG picture is amazing. IMHO, because they do not read, think, understand, they then tend to identify with people of so called promenence (Highly advertised).

While Oprah has done a lot of good for a lot of people, I wonder how much she would have done if there were -0- publicity. Not doubting her motivations, but.............

On the other hand, politicians have almost universally proven themselves to be scoundrals, theves, liars, cheats and worse. So what do we do? The players in today's game SUCK, but this is still the best system in the world today. Tomorrow, who knows.

We all have to get involved, do what is right and then take the heat for doing so. Not funn, but the alternatives are gruesome at best.

? would Oprah endorse Obama if his skin color was different?

Does she support him based on his credentials or his race? Sorry, but I think that she is playing the race card, not the skills and abilities card.

Sad.

What makes you think this? I've read your quotes before and you don't strike me as someone so simple minded. What I am hearing from you is-

Oprah is a person of color. Obama is a person of color. Oprah has never endorsed a candidate before Obama. Therefore, it must be because of color.

Presuming you are male, this wouldn't be all that different than someone saying you are going to vote for Giuliani or Romney over (say- Hillary, for instance) because being male you clearly went for a male...

I have no idea why Oprah feels so strongly about him. And I will leave my own politics out. But maybe just maybe Oprah heard him speak and was inspired- he is pretty charismatic and articulate. Maybe just maybe she thought Hillary would leave the country more polarized than it is now (despite her intelligence, experience and the fact she is a woman).

I was surprised no one else called you on this so I guess I am doing it.

Do you have some evidence or reasoning to suggest that Oprah is endorsing Obama based on phenotypical traits?

If not then, quite frankly, it wouldn't be a stretch for one (not me) to conclude your comments were racist...

Your turn...

polarized, schmolderized Is this a new word made to bash Hillary. I never heard it used until she stepped up to the plate. To me lots of the candidates are very polarizing. After watching OJ get off and the positive reaction by many black Americans or would you prefer Afro-Americans it really made me second guess. Even my best black friends at work were all cheering aloud. I was truly  . Did they witness something different? No it was more about him being a black sports hero with big bucks not about all of the evidence against him; and also about a black person getting off when so many have been falsely arrested and discriminated against in our history and still today. Many others, including women, white ones too, are discriminated against daily. That's why I would not be surprised if that was the only reason ( I hope there's more than one, but does it matter), and that's her right if that's why? I am NO one to judge even if that IS the reason. It's Oprah's right. I didn't find that question racist. I found it honest and brave to ask that openly, and I'm glad you responded openly and honestly as well. Okay, I hope you now don't feel the need to call me racist. Oprah pointed out on her show a lot of us have black blood in us too. Black is beautiful. Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world, yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight.

I think it's a good word to make the point that it is common to either really love or really hate the Clintons.

Kristi, pls reread my words because I tried choosing them carefully. I didn't call anyone a racist. And like you, I do not find the question racist either. I agree that it was a fair and provocative question.

I said, "Do you have some evidence or reasoning to suggest that Oprah is endorsing Obama based on phenotypical traits? If not then, quite frankly, it wouldn't be a stretch for one (not me) to conclude your comments were racist..."

I'm asking for seaside2 to explain why he/she said,
"Sorry, but I think that she is playing the race card, not the skills and abilities card. Sad."

If this is the position for no reason at all then, well...:dunno:

It's all good, Kristi. Pls know I mean no harm or offense to anyone, especially you. Just love a fun debate. It really is sad that we can't get a great candidate who also unites us... Cheers, g

Amen. None taken at all, geowickey, thanks. I  a good debate too. I'm just glad someone like yourself tried to answer that question, and I hope I didn't offend anyone either. Goodwitch, I agree with you about Fred, too.

Let me say that the comments are in no way racist. Look up the often misused word in the dictionary and you will see that in no way, was the poster's comment, racist.

I don't watch Oprah, nor do I read her magazine, so I have no idea why she would endorse any candidate. If I had to take a shot in the dark at it, I would guess that Obama is the least experienced in poliTRICKS, and therefore the most honest of the bunch. :dunno:
