and need advise with the remodel. It's a 1925 bungalo (no exterior pics until I close, too many Nooga folks on the boards). We walked in and discovered the kitchen is huge but has these metal cabinets. Well the GC went BOZO saying what a great find this is and how we should use them or at the very least sell them because they are highly sought after. Well, GB wants a beautiful new wood cabinet kitchen. However, she got on internet and did the research and found out that these cabinets are the bomb!

What would you do? Keep / refurbish the metal cabinets and rework the layout :D ?

Sell the metal cabinets and start over with wood costing the Otter about $30K  ?

Here are some Pics

...a new Otter place! Of course, GB should have what she wants if she does anything in the kitchen :D, but I am digging those cabinets! Can they be refurbished if they have dings? Do you call an automotive repair center?

RO, promise to do a before/after for us! I am so happy y'all have found a home! Oh, and thanks for saving an old house!!!!

I love retro, so I'd replace the flooring with real linoleum, get myself a flowered apron and change my name to June.

Finding this kitchen not "remuddled" yet IS a real find. I'd clean 'em up, and leave them like they are.

p.s. I'd keep those cool light fixtures too. Oh, RO! I'm so excited for you and GB. Like Kitty said, PLEASE take us with you through the process. This does look like a very cool house.

While doing the research she found out they were the cabinet of choice for Frank Lloyd Wright. They were right at the top of the line product back then. They are awesome condition and really just need powder coating

Can they do the powder coating in house or do you have to remove them and take them to be done? What color would you do?
