  • one very old yorkie - male - named Tony on his AKC papers he is Sir Anthony the Bullet (b/c he used to run crazy runs!!) He now has hardly any teeth, breath that would wake the dead, and a broken leg. (long story) He is scared of any storms and any noise. He eats his food by picking up one piece at a time walking away from the bowl and chews it. Drives me crazy......nick names - tripod, stinky breath, t-tone,
  • one 1.3 year old black and white parti Cocker Spaniel - male (still intact)- named Luke. He is the best dog I have ever had. So good with little IBD. Rides to school with us every morning. Loves to play with the cats, yes play. Destroys toys but no shoes or furniture and for that I love him more! nick names - luuuuuuuuke (you have to hear little IBD call him), mop, crazy dog, luke-I am your father! in the best D Vader voice you can perform.
  • one fixed 2 yro Flame point himilayan Persian, (not flat face) named Deuce. (after Deuce McCallister) little IBD heard Daddy talking about Deuce and she liked the name. He was strictly an inside cat in Fl. but now loves to lounge outside with the birds, lizards, geckos, etc. no nicknames...:dunno:
  • one rescue kitty that was picked up in Defuniack. We saved Francie by one day. :clap:I think she is a seal point persian (not flat face) not sure of her age, she is fixed but I would not be surprised if she pumped some babies out in her day, she is a beauty! She is honary and sits on the back porch and sleeps pretty much all day. No nick names...
  • one Beta fish, named Rainbow.
  • one 75 gallon fresh water tank, Little IBD has named all the fish but I aint going there....

One male shetland sheepdog, registered name "take it to the max"his call name is Max. sometimes.. boo, boobee, culibutt. Of all the dogs I've had he is by far the coolest best behaved. He is well trained, very laid back, loves to play catch with tennis balls and hates squirrels. If you say the word squirell his ears go up and starts to look for the rascal rodent.
One female miniture dactshund. Her full name is Annabelle Lucille, annabelle, annabelly, rugrat. Southern belle that she is she runs the house and gets away with anything she wants. She is a geko hunter. Loves squekee toys, which are no fun when you are trying to watch something on TV, you keep on raising the volume then she stops and the TV is blasting.:D:D
So, what are your animals' nicknames and their quirks? The funn parts of their personalities and the funn nicknames you call them?

I have Sweet Pea, which is a 95lb Blood Hound and a twenty pound fat ass cat, named Cowboy. They sleep together and Cowboy stares at me while I am in the shower????? Go figure~~~~~

Sweet Pea's nicknames are:

sweepy
sweepyface
seelygirl
love hound
baby cakes
sugar muffin
sugar muffin head
muffin head
shug

Cowyboy used up two lives right out of the gate. That should explain his given name a little bit. But, then suddenly he became fussy. He doesn't get up high on the roof of the garage any longer.

Fussy p***y,
Dramatic p***y,
Grumpy p***y
and, recently,

Green p***y
(his sneezes are cute, to boot, dangitall!)

 :D

You can domesticate a squirrel. A friend of ours has had Hemmingway the squirrel for almost 10 years now. Cutest little guy in the world, he found him after a thunderstorm and kept him. Used to carry him around in his breast pocket.

FFF is a semi-domesticated squirrel. :D

We think he's out. He bothered my worker today a little so that ended up being a side job for him, too. I'll know soon enough if he's out.

So, I have a Bloodhound with one of the strongest noses in the Universe......and, a cat who hunts and neither one of them know we a new house guest!

Dos Gatos (the collective nickname)...
Both were part of a litter of kittens dumped behind the Santa Rosa vet's office (by the post office) 6 years ago.

GIZMO, the orange & white tabby male, definitely chose US by reaching his front paw through the cage bars. His back feet look like big old jack rabbit feet. The white markings on his tummy make him look like he's wearing a little white speedo, open front midriff vest, and flip-flops.He's a big mooshing lap love.

His favorite game: "don't touch the floor". He wildly tears around the house leaping from one place to another without touching the floor! Yowling 'REOWWWW' like a banshee ambulance.

Giz's self-appointed jobs include:
*Director of Perimeter Patrol (in the screened pool patio)...'cuz it takes regular patrolling to keep all those cheeky squirrels in line! But secretly he's a big cowardly lion!
*Daily Alarm Clock... jumping back & forth across my body with the occasional 1,000lb force pounce. I try to take the fly swatter to him... but he's slippery.
*Major Meal Monitor... he's a total nag... and he can't tell time (unlike his sister).
His nicknames are The Giz, Gizzer, Gizzy, Buddy, Orange Lion

GERTIE: a very dressy black & white tuxedo femme! She is very shy, very loyal, and SMART as a whip! She is perpetually well dressed for evening, in a white bib, single button black cutaway coat, and tiny white spats.

Gertie is the TRUE hunter of the pair. She's the one who catches lizards, bringing them in the house, imprisoning them in the toes of whatever shoes are laying around... saving them to play with at her later leisure. Gertie is the one who has "pinned" 2 snakes on the patio... guarding them & calling out until Mom comes with the broom & dustpan. Games have to be challenging... she likes to play chinese yo-yo but the game must include her hiding behind the curtains & watching the shadows for the yo-yo cast out.

Gert was a true caregiver to her beloved Daddy (they bonded over shared canteloupe in the mornings ) staying right by his side, always touching him with one paw, the whole time he was sick & dying. We joked that he was the luckiest of men to have a "furry little french maid" as his nurse!!

Gertie understands English fluently... but her preferred human language of love is pigeon French! Her favorite nickname is Mon Belle Chat. THAT softly crooned address is what convinces her to accept my formal invitation to come lay on my stomach in bed to receive her nightly "time-for-brushing-Mom-and-Gertie-time".

Gert & Giz are my best-good-fwiends.

Ozzy a big miniature schnauzer rescued from a shelter when he was 3. Nicknames: Oz, Mr. Barkey von Schnauzer, Ozwald, Freak.
Quirks, he pees on everything outside, cars, skateboards, rakes, whatever. His endearing quality is that when he wants something like popcorn or to be loved on he doesn't bark but rather kind of talks....woo woo woo.

Smalls, a nearly one year old Black Lab brought to our door in need of a home. I refused, he looked at me, I said, "you're killing me smalls," and the rest is history. He climbs on our laps stealthily like we won't notice a 35 pound lab on our legs. When I take the kayak out without him he sits on the dock and crys and bays. I can hear him all the way down the bayou (sorry neighbors). He has a crooked little smile and sometimes reminds me of King Kong in those "confused" scenes.
Nicknames: Doofus, Off, Down, Freak, Digger, Frasier (cause he drops fur like a Christmas Tree dropping needles on January 1st.
