I was trying to be nice - new rule from United that is you can't fit into one seat, buckle the seatbealt w/ an added extension, or put the armrest down you have to buy another seat.

Incredibly fair IMO.

If your child is screaming in the gate area I'm reporting your outfit and general description as a possible terrorist to airport security. The idea of being trapped in a pressurized metal tube hurtling through the sky at 600 mph with small screaming children is terror enough for me.

great old thread merm. LOVE the bus/wine story. and I cannot stand driving over 6 hours anywhere. will fly if I must, but the older I get the more I can do without the airport/plane experience.. for several reasons... the entire experience is just dreadful - would almost rather drive forever. but, someday when we have high speed rail, I'll go anywhere.

12 hours from here. Sunkist and I just decided tonight that we will break ours up too. Probably spend the night in Jackson or Hattiesburg on Wed. Arrive Thurs (23) around noon. Yippee!!! More time to "socialize".
