You know, I really don't disagree or agree with you about preachers. I don't attend any kind of organized religious group but please cease your outlandish diatribes against something you personally don't believe in. Until you have been put into a position where the fact that there is a higher power, you wouldn't understand.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion as I am to mine, but when it comes to religion and whether or not you're a believer, it is best left unsaid or you may be considered the moron.

What comes out of the mouths of preachers has very little to do with the reality of a higher power IMO. They can't even get the Bible right most of the time.

Um, no, it's a human trait. Everybody has their 'religion'.. it comes in different forms, but it's all the same when you boil it down.

I never thought about it, but you're right, deception is a religion, and vice versa.

I think it's based more on emotion than anything else, which is obviously inherent in everyone, not just the 'primitives'. I was reading an article recently detailing how people react to certain consumer products the same way they react to religious teachings.. the brain tends to generalize things into convenient compartments.
