Walton County Earth Day Festival & 5K Race at Topsail April 20

This year over one billion people in 192 countries will participate in various events all over the world to celebrate Earth Day. How and where will you join in and make a difference? Emerald Coast residents, here’s your chance and Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is the place.

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, the University of Florida IFAS Extension, Florida Sea Grant, and Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park invite you to the 5th Annual Walton County Earth Day Festival & 5K Race on April 20, 2013.

Come out for a wonderful day of activities at the Walton County Earth Day Festival which will kick-off with an Ocean Hour Beach Clean-Up at 9 AM, where you can pitch in and help clean up the Gem of the Emerald Coast. The festival starts at 10 AM, and this FREE event will include: children’s activities, educational games, cooking demos, guided hikes, food and fun for all ages. Many agencies, local organizations, and area businesses will be on hand to educate and entertain festival-goers.

The Earth Day Sunset 5K Race will start at 5 PM with a post-race celebration including a star gazing opportunity to end the evening, led by the Northwest Florida Astronomy Association. Please join in the celebration and share all the beauty that the Emerald Coast has to offer, and make everyday Earth Day.

2:00PM-2:45PM | Modern Day Bistro Dishes: Featuring Chef Dan Pettis
5:00PM | 5K Run/Walk Starts
