30A St Patricks Day Parade & Festival Mar 17
March 15, 2018 by SoWal Staff
Bust out your favorite green socks and hats, and practice your jig because everyone is Irish in South Walton for the annual 30A St. Patrick’s Parade & Festival this Saturday, March 17th!
The parade starts on Scenic 30A at 2 pm, just west of County Highway 83 (Blue Mountain Beach Road) and travels west to Gulf Place. The Grand Marshal of the parade this year will be Walton County Commissioner Tony Anderson.
Several trophies are up for grabs, including the Best in Parade for best decorated car, truck or float. Where else are you going to compete as the fairest redhead girl or pirate boy? Once the 11th Annual Parade ends, the festival portion really steps up the fun this year. Take note, the after party has moved! Head north from Gulf Place on Hwy 393 to Arnett’s Gulfside Farm and Stables to take in the extraordinary performance by the Drake School of Irish Dance.
Festival participants can purchase commemorative shirts, enjoy face painting, children’s activities (including a 30 foot slide), and of course beer and grub you would expect from the Irish. That’s right, you can quench your corned beef and cabbage and green beer thirst while getting jiggy with it!
Join the locals this Saturday and become part of a long-standing fun event with a new twist! It’s St. Paddy’s Day in SoWal!
Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $5 for kids, children 4 and under are free. Purchase tickets online today.
