St. Andrews State Park is hosting guests for an America's State Parks First Day Hike on Jan. 1 from 4-5 p.m. This hike offers individuals and families an opportunity to begin the New Year rejuvenating and connecting with the outdoors by taking a healthy hike along the wildlife viewing trail within St. Andrews State Park.
Join Park Rangers for a sunset hike on the Heron Pond trail. The Heron Pond Trail starts at a Turpentine Still replica and winds through a number of plant communities where visitors may encounter wading birds and many small animals. The trail is approximately 0.5 miles in length, and moderate in difficulty. Bring binoculars and a flash light and don't forget drinking water and comfortable shoes.

Directions: St. Andrews State Park is located three miles east of Panama City Beach, off State Road 392 (Thomas Drive.) From Highway 98 turn south onto Highway 3031 (Thomas Drive) and follow it to Highway 392. Turn left to enter into the gates of St. Andrews State Park.
