I got a call this morning from my Bank and apparently someone was trying to purchase tickets to Belgium and England and other on-line merchandise.
My caller ID showed the Bank, but I still asked for his name and number to call him back as I know there is a scam going around trying to gain info.
It was a real security agent. I hardly use my debit card, so I am wondering how someone gained access to my number? and I certainly do not use it on line. I use cash for this reason.
Wonder if they managed to break through the bank firewall? :dunno:

Any hoo, they locked up the account as soon as the second airline ticket was purchased and are doing an investigation.

Happy holidays to me huh. :sosad:

I used my card so much this weekend the bank called me 3 times to make sure it was me using it. Would have been ok if I got the calls, but my husband was at home answering all of them. I had to come home and explain my spending spree  Was hopping to avoid that until after the holidays.

Mango pancakes! Why not?

Oh Gosh, does that sound bad?:dunno:  Never made a mango pancake, just banana.

The worst part of this whole ordeal is it comes at a time where I just had to put hawk alerts on my credit report because one of the Banking Departments I am registered with as a Broker, had a security breach and all of my information, SS #, employees etc. was on the database they broke into. If the Banking Department who monitors compliance with security can't protect you, who can?

 Ohmygosh Mango, how awful! I use my debit card all the time - much easier than writing checks, and I don't like to use credit unless it's a large purchase. I'll be watching those purchases much closer in the future!

I'm so sorry for you.....hope they catch the crook soon so he can enjoy his Christmas dinner in jail. He/she deserves it!:bang:
