:rotfl: ...there is electricity there, right????
There is electricity but forget about cell phone reception. If you will be making one long distance call, I HIGHLY recommend you buying a long distance calling card prior to going. Most rental houses allow for local calls only.

Cil gives some good recommendations. Indian Pass Raw Bar is very good, but you might get better service if you pretend to be a Florida Gator. I don't dare do that, and I have yet to get sick eating there. Be sure to ask the girl who works there about catching alligators.

Apalachicola has several stores with good eats, and after being in this town with most buildings newer than 5 years of age, walking into some of the stores in Apalachicola is a real treat. If you like books or knitting, be sure to pop into the little book store. I like the restaurant, although the name slips me -- maybe "The Grill," which is located on the corner of the main road in town. Look for the big pink flying flamingo hanging from the ceiling.

If you want to kill a day, drive out to the tip of Cape San Blas and walk along the beaches in the State Park -- almost heaven. If you like to fish, take a rod. Watch out for Stingrays and sharks in the Bay. They are everywhere and the Stingrays will not move out of your ways sometimes.

I know of no place that I would tell you to avoid. I love that entire area -- full of culture which is quickly fading from the rest of Florida. Have funn!

I definitely need to fill my glasses prescription because all I see is lots of fur. :rotfl: I'll bring them to the gallery so I can find you.

You have to pop in to Avenue E for shopping. The couple that owns it --Joe and Jeanine--used to own my very favorite store in Columbus, GA (1617 Wynnton) before relocating to Appalachicola a few years ago. They have another store on the same block with crisp, clean, modern things, too. I can't remember the name of the modern store...something like Blue. :clap_1:

Thanks SJ...i knew i could count on you...unlike the peanut gallery!
Cil also suggested shelling in Cape San Blas she says it is the best. Will try not to step on the stingrays...won't be swimming with the sharks!
I am really looking forward to it! Will take my camera and try to pay you back for all of your grayt photos!
