Bridal shower gifts

Anyone have any good ideas? Nothing naughty or remotely lingerie-like; this is for our former babysitter who is about 23. She's in med school and very very sweet & modest.

I don't want to just get something from their registry ... do I? The wedding is in June so I will wait for that. But I can't remember what else to get. My shower was 14 years ago.

Also, the luncheon is Saturday so it has to be relatively easy to purchase. My brain is addled. Please help, SoWallers! Especially if you have done this lately!

How fancy does this have to be? A med student can always use a pair of Crocs...if that is too 'cheap' fancier medical footwear exists.

Oh that is the cutest idea! I will keep it in mind. She is super tiny so I will have to see if I can find out her shoe size. She's at FSU. Maybe I'll get her orange ones. Dr. Skunky I did not expect you to even read this thread, much less respond. :clap_1:

I would like to make it a nice gift, simply because she has done so many things for my boys, but the nice thing about her is she is truly grateful for anything anyone gives her.

Does she drink? A nice set of margarita glasses with pitcher would be nice. What would be even better is if DrunkenArtist did them, how special would that be. Of course if she is in med school she won't have time to party, right Skunky?

Large popcorn bowl with serving containers (Target) Put packs of microwave popcorn and seasonings in them with wedding movies- Wedding Crashers, My Best Friends Wedding, or Runaway Bride etc.

Beach bag with beach towels and matching flip flops for Bride and Groom. We found some online that left the imprint "Just" and "Married" in the sand, too cute. Fill the bag with sunscreen, magazines etc

Memory box, holds pictures and mementos from the wedding, Things Remembered has this and you can have it engraved.

If there's no theme for the shower, my favorite gift to give is a picture frame. You can buy a reasonably priced silver-plated one, or you can find a nice selection of wooden, etc., ones at a Pottery Barn store. Newlyweds need lots of frames for all of the photos of their new lives together.

My favorite shower gift I got was a coupon for a massage, I used it right before my wedding, when things were getting really crazed, it was great to get away for an hour!!!

That's a great idea! My preference is to give tangible, nonconsumable gifts.

I got a massage certificate and a spa day and very easy to purchase too since you're pressed for time. Love the crocs idea too.
