But it wasn't just generic-label, or store label brands that were affected by this recall. There were Eukanuba, Iams, Nutro Max, etc on the list. So I don't think it is just about the off brands we should be worried about. I think we should be worried about ALL of it. IMHO.

I agree. I look at every can of canned food that I pick up now and read the label. If it says wheat gluten I refuse to buy it. Bad it has come to this. Of course, from the looks of things it isn't going to matter much longer as to our beloved pet unless a miracle happens. I have prayed for two days now for God to help my dog if it is meant to be.

LadyD:

I'm sorry to hear of your dog's poor health. We had to euthanize Baxter, our 10 y/o boxer-mix, Friday morning, for apparent renal failure. He only ate Alpo Prime cuts and gravy- Purina didn't issue the Alpo recall until Friday evening. We are not positive that he became ill due to the food, but it sure is a terrible coincidence.

Prayers sent for your dog.

My family dogs were on the BARK, BARF, or LICK protocol. Which means, depending on who walked in the door you would get one of the above.

When I do decide to get a doggie one day, it will be a pudgy loving mixed mutt (like past family pets who lived long lives and ate everything)

Signing waivers........WT*? :dunno:

when i lived at home we had a little mutt that loved cat turds from the cat box, chocolate, coffee, fresh meat such as baby rabbits, and any other thing you can think of. he lived a long life and passed away from old age.

Sorry about Baxter Chrisv.
This pet food issue is even more far reaching than I imagined. :sosad:
First Cork's dog got sick, and now hearing about possibly Baxter being harmed by the food.
I give my cats Purina and yesterday one of my cats threw up and I got nervous, but cats throw up a lot, and so far he seems ok, but I am watching closely still even though the food is not listed for cats.

Mine ate our rabbits turds. Must be something to the TURD diet. :dunno:
He lived to 16.

We even signed a contract saying that we would never have our dog off a leash unless she is in a fenced area. Invisible fences are unacceptable according to the contract. If our dog dies due to injuries from not being leashed or escaping from an invisible fence, we have agreed to pay a $5000 penalty to the breeder.

Is there an accidental TURD eating clause?
Audie and my dog ate turds occasionally and lived long lives?

All due respect, but that is just insane. And completely unenforceable. No court anywhere would uphold that. I understand breeders' feelings, but that is just off the chart.
