I felt some movies like Snow White and Toy Story were chosen because they represented a leap in techology/their genre.

Gross. All these movies are so boring.

They are just saying they are the best because the feel like they have to. I mean who really wants to sit through Citizen Kane or Mr. Smith Goes To Washington.

Snow White??? Really?

These are always SOO annoying.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I got suckered into watching the French film Umbrellas of Cherbourg because it was on one of those "top movies to see in a lifetime" lists and it was excrutiating. We popped it out after less than 15 minutes. I don't fall for lists any more.

I don't get Citizen Kane but then again I didn't get the Mona Lisa when I saw it, either, so what do I know?

Wow. Kimmi thinks 100 of the greatest films ever made are all "boring." I guess living in Cali has transformed Kimmi into Paris Hilton.

So, Kimmi, what should be included, Roadhouse? Dumb and Dumber? Melrose Place: The Movie?

 nobody under the age of 40 cares about half of those movies.

Number 6 should have been higher, and "Raising Arizona" should have been at least #5.

Probably--especially "Snow White." Everyone was telling Walt that no one was going to sit through a full-length cartoon. It's really amazing when you consider the work that went into those movies.

I don't think the "Sixth Sense" or "Forrest Gump" belongs on the list.

The book "Forrest Gump" was a great modern satire of US culture and the Vietnam War through the eyes of an athletically gifted idiot savant..........the movie was Tom Hanks being dumb and digitally inserted in old footage.

"Titanic" and "Saving Private Ryan" better be on there for something besides the plots and acting!

"Titanic" was some of the worst writing/acting I've ever seen. Makes me want to puke. I think I will puke...:puke:

The scooterbug version of Titanic is a great improvement over the original. It's 45 minutes shorter and doesn't involve learning to spit, ballet dancing, making out in a car, or nearly as much racing around waterfilled corridors. More about a historic naval accident than leonardo dicraprio.

I would much rather see this...

But I liked "Mr. Smith..." Maybe I'm just old. And boring.

Maybe that is the problem with America and its decline as a dynamic and vibrant economy. Those under 40 don't seem to care about ANYTHING except self indulgence !!!
