*another peeve*

When I am walking to my car (this has happened like 10+ times) and some person comes up and says something about how their car ran out of gas, kids with them and they are from out of town etc.- can I give them $20- they swear they'll send me the money as soon as they get home...

Ok-
1. If you're going out of town, you should have money. period.
2. So you left your 3 small kids alone in a dead car?
3. Why are you here next to Best Buy instead of begging at a gas station?
4. My tank costs $50+ a tank- please tell me what wonder car can make it out of town on $20- I need one of those...

annoyed.

that's scary ! i have never had this happen around here, but i would be tempted to call the police if it did. it's sad to say, but you just can't trust anybody.

on a side note - why leave the kids in the car ? i would have brought them with me. i would be more tempted to give a stranger money if i saw kids there....

Oh, I'm sure there was no dead car or kids. Sad to say but I am so used to seeing people beg for money that I have learned:
1. Look straight ahead
2. Don't EVER look at them
3. Walk briskly
4. IGNORE

So sad, because I really wouldn't mind helping out the occasion homeless person but the ones in Atlanta are corrupt, I swear. My uncle once saw a guy with a "will work for food" sign and he had just bought a ton of food and he gave the guy a hotdog or burger or something and the guy yelled at him and threw it on the ground. My uncle was even more shocked as he kept an eye on the "homeless" guy and he ran across the street and jumped in a Mercedes. :yikes:
I guess the homeless in the city can make alot of money if you run the right corner...

people who splash on after shave and fail to wash their hands before shaking the hands of other people who don't want to smell like someone else's aftershave. :bang: If I wanted to smell like your aftershave, I would have bought it myself. Thanks! @$$hole.

Well, don't park south of Pack Square in dowtown Asheville. Usually, they get to your car before you even step out, which can be quite intimidating. You don't know if they are high on crack and ready to phuk you up, or if they are simply going to ask for change. There first question is ALWAYS, "Can I ax you a question." My answer is ALWAYS, "you just did. Do you want to ask me a second question?" It usually lets them know that I know their game. They will usually get out the second question about needing the gas or bond money for their friend who is in jail, but I never think about giving them any money.

Once we were parallel parking downtown to go to the Clairmont Lounge (an ATL tradition, ask for Blondie!) and this homeless guy was "helping" the driver park. Which, btw, he didn't need help with. So when we all get out of the car the guy asks for a tip for helping us park. One of the girls was already tipsy- she reached into her pocket and says "OH, I have the best tip ever." Then she reached into her pocket, pulled out a recipe and proceeded to read the intructions for a really good recipe. This was the first time I'd ever seen a homeless guy look at us like we were on crack. It was brilliant. :D

New Pet Peeve...

My goofy new neighbor who:

1. throws his lava rocks in my pool. :dunno:
and this next one kills me...
2. cuts his friggin grass at 7:00 on Saturday morning.

He doesn't work (permanant disability for a bad back), yet always cuts his grass on Saturday morning when I'm sleeping rather than a week day when I've gone to work.:bang: My daughter says it's because the Social Security fraud inspectors don't work on Saturday so he can cut grass and not be seen.
