Help: Seacrest House, but Panama City Beach Zip?#@?

wow. As an FYI- I see many variations of the addresses within a neighborhood in the MLS. For example,

If the zipcode is still the Panama City Beach zip (32413), in the searches on Realtor.com and other sites, the listings will come up only in the search for that PCB zipcode.

Well, the place we rent is in Inlet Beach and has a Seagrove phone exchange and a PC Beach zip code of 32413. Any phone calls to PC Beach are considered long distance, I would imagine Seagrove calls would not be but who knows.

Growing up on the State Line between two different Time Zones, living in one, and going to school in the other, it was a little confusing. Yes, I used both time zones, depending on which state I was in at any given time. To make that more confusing, some people living in the Eastern Zone, used Central Time, so anytime someone mentioned time, it was always followed with the correct Time Zone, for clarification.

Our telephone was on the other states system, and calling our closest neighbor, who was on a different phone system, was long distance.

The big difference here is that multi-million dollar home sales are being affected by this craziness of the PCB zip debacle.

On http://www.emeraldcoasthomesonline.com, you can search by area (South Walton East) and it will bring up homes with both zip codes, but I'm sure you know that.

On Realtor.com, you can also search by city, which would pull it up by the city address, but if one searches by zip, it pulls up the zipcode listed. Yes, the public version of ECAR, you linked above, does have searches by area, but I don't think that most people are aware of the site, and tend to use the big search sites. Either way, there is no real answer to solve the problems of the system until they use a lat/lon mapping system like Google uses.

You can just do like I do and put 'PCB, FL'. For all anyone who actually gives a rip can tell, you live in Punta Caribe Bonita or some such. Or, you can put Seacrest Beach, FL 32413 and the mail will still come. Jeez, talk about redlining poor Panama City Beach!:roll:

I've got you a better one....our new house at Watersound has a physical address of # Street name, Watersound, FL 32413 and we also have a P. O. Box there with P.O. Box &*&*&*& Watersound, FL 32461. My house is not two blocks from the post office and we have two different zip codes. Go figure.

Our other house is in Seagrove and we have always used the address plus Seagrove Beach, FL 32459 but it's actually Santa Rosa Beach, Fl 32459. Always gets the mail there. They use the same Seagrove Beach, Fl at One Seagrove Place.

Watersound also has P.O. boxes for the public to use, go by and ask for Kitty she is our post mistress and a sweetheart. I did have at one time a P.O. box in Seaside.....never again....try getting your mail during season!
