They don't call it AO-HELL for nothing.

I agree and good luck breaking up with them. It took months before they stopped billing my credit card. Even when I explained it wasn't them, it was me, they couldn't grasp the reality it was over.

I told them the computer had gone to grad school with my son and AOL seemed useless. They still insisted I keep AOL for a few more months in case I changed my mind. They even offered to help me get another computer, they were so thoughtful. AOL is slow in many different ways.

So, I did the cleansing thing yesterday and now my AOL mail is doing weird things. When I hit Read with the little mailbox, the spam page comes up?

Sounds like you need to upgrade your AOL version that you have. Sometimes if you had the same version for a while, it gets corrupted and you have trouble with it.

Dumping your Temporary Internet files should affect nothing, That is, if that is all you dumped?

Mine is slow because I still have dial up, it works for me and I truly am in no hurry to download things so why change something that works. But I do keep the current version up to date.

Does anyone know how to do this on a Mac (or if it has to be done on a Mac?)

on any computer you can always go to Search and type in Temporary Internet Files and it will find it for you.

Also for those on AOL, it's not always because of AOL that things are slow. If you come to this site and its slow go to another site and if it too is slow, then yes is AOL. However if you find this site slow but another one is not, then it the server for this site.

Sometimes you just get too much traffic for the bandwidth of the site and it will simply slow everything down.

Miss Kitty, Listen to SJ, dump AOL, use Firefox as your web browser and use the 2 free utilities from Eusing.com 1,window washer and 2, registry cleaner. It's a free pair of downloads, and skip the registration step. Life will be better!

I don't have AOL and I use Internet Explorer as my browser. If I change to Firefox will everything on my computer still work the same or will it screw up some internal settings where I would have to know how to go in and change them, which I don't. Can you still have yahoo mail or hotmail? And about these 2 free utilities from Eusing.com, are they only to be used with Firefox? Inquiring minds want to know.
