As always, make your electronics purchase with a credit card that doubles the manufacturer's warranty. Not all CCs extend warranties, but many do, for no additional charge.
I am now the proud owner of a Sony Cybershot DSC-W55. I have no idea what that means but it takes great shots (so far) and it fits in my pocket. So, I'm happy!

What the heck happened? Was Sony even on your list?
Which color did you buy? I was just looking at that camera on a review page. I'm impressed with some of the accessories, such as wide angle lens, 298mm zoom lens, etc. They aren't cheap, and do require a lens converter (more money), but that is impressive. My mom has a sony and she hates it because of the slow shutter speed, making her pics fuzzy, but I've used it and I think it is pretty fancy, and takes great photos (cover your ears mom) if you know what you're doing.
