You are not going to convince me that Crist does not at least make the short list of VP candidates. Last minute endorsement, totally surprised everyone, and he delivers the State. Based on Tuesday night, Crist has enormous political capital, and he seems to know how to play it. Winning Florida is going to be crucial to winning the general election. Crist enjoys tremendous popularity on both sides of the aisle, he has a relationship with Ahnold in California and Trump in New York. The guy has positioned himself as a kingmaker and proved it last night. I really believe he is going to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency when this is over with.

Crist--yes, definitely a good strategic choice to win Fla.--but Cal., N.Y.and Texas--maybe. Crist would be good for the Repubs..

You have called a lot of things so far, and from a purely political standpoint, Crist would be a good choice. But "political capital" doesn't help you if you are a screwup, and while I wouldn't call Charlie a screwup, he clearly has not been quick to grasp the nuances of issues that affect this state. Much less the nation. If McCain chooses him, I would hope that he would also promise to have a full body scan and EKG every three months. Long live McCain's Mom!

Tootsie, you are assuming that McCain will win the GOP nomination. I still think that McCain is too left for the GOP's base.

The vast, unseen Republican "Machine" has already chosen and crowned McCain. It is all about who can win over the moderates in both parties and the Independants. The Republicans cannot count soley on Hillary's negatives to win, although they are many.

hnooe, I'm not sure where you get your information, and maybe there is validity to it, but I think it has yet to be seen that the GOP Machine has crowned McCain victorious. I think the democratically minded news peeps have crowned him the winner so that even if the Dems lose, they will still have a Dem in office if McCain is chosen as the GOP nominee. None of the conservative bobble heads want McCain in the seat, not one.

You may be right. I have a problem trying to respond to posts by trying to think like a true Republican: you have to be who you are, even though I would like be able to walk a mile a Republicans shoes, at times, to be fair, I cannot pretend to speak for them.

Maybe the left leaning Media has done all the crowning of McCain. Thanks for the insight!

I agree with you completely on this one, he is the liberal media's choice, not the Republican machine's. This is one reason why I think this next week will get very ugly and would not be surprised if there was some "swift boating.".

no, I am assuming nothing at this point. just pulling for McCain, just in case I have to make a hard choice. otherwise, I'll be forced to go with the Hill. you would not be happy with that now would you? neither would I but I would certainly do it.
