maybe they think that only rich people live here and that rich people can buy new stuff. lol. Not really my thought. I'm sure it is as they say, related to the lack of County investigators/detectives to follow these "petty crimes." I'm no criminologist and for all I know, some of these crimes may be felonies. The only reason I could see them giving a damn would be if a gun was stolen, because that would likely bring in the ATF (Bureau of Liquor, Ta-Backy, and Weapons), and those guys don't play around.

Wow. My brother and finace' just visited this past weekend. His bike cost him about 2,000 and hers about 700 and I told them it would be fine out back. I'm glad they took the bikes in to be on the safe side. I joked that they were too use to New Orleans. But maybe I should take a little different approach to things myself. I think someone may have stolen my youth and good looks, but I do plan on getting them back.

The cops were very nice when I called them! They were there in less than 10 minutes and did a very thorough job of searching my yard for the offender/any issues.

Greenroomsufer thank you for the hateful word towards me. I am not saying what he did was right. I am not sayiong you have to "buy it" either. I was just responding to the talk about him and his mother. I do agree that the police need to do more during the busy season to prevent crime. I see more cop cars stiiing in parking lots together at night talking then driving around.

I'm really not picking on you, just the comment made. Please don't believe or try to convince others that this is a seasonal issue that shows up with the tourists. I'll bet good money some of the troublemakers are local raised spoiled brats who think they can get away with anything because their enabling parents won't accept that their kids might ever do something mischevious. I believe every kid regardless of race, sex, religion, political affiliation or parents income, given the wrong set of friends and sufficient time, will get into trouble somehow. Been there, done that, learned from it. Problem solved.

It's definitely not an "in season" issue, as the majority of thefts have occurred in the calm after the ATL spring break storm.

I agree as well. This may not be kids, but has to be people from the area.

I'm thinking it's kids, as if it's adults they have some very poor taste in targets.

Hundreds of deserted million $ plus vacation homes and they're stealing ipods and radar detectors in Seagrove?

If so, here's their sign:
