One thing I am sure of....a slot on the TDC reserved for a tourism-related businessperson opens up this fall. I'll be nominating Dave Rauschkolb. He has shown leadership above and beyond...and even if he doesn't want to run for office, we need to draft him in some capacity. And we need a restauranteur on that commission, someone with a broader view of tourism.

And I agree with your comments about the TDC board.
Oh BTW- Cecilia Jones is running for District 5. She was handing out campaign info on cards in Freeport when I was up there last week, so I grabbed one. If anyone knows her, please ask her to post some info on SoWal.com.

Hummmm I would do it but I would have to many people indited and well, The Sheriffs race is wide open! I know tons of people in Sowal and even more in Nowal. Just found out I'm in the walton county gene pool through a second cousin!
He decided no to run this time.
That means we have no one from South Walton running in that position.
So far that is how it stands in District 1, no South Walton representation. With so many running in District 5 right now, that could really split the vote and we could end up with a real doozie or no one from South Walton in that district either. As in zippo, none, nadda. And with only Republicans filing at this point, it will be over with at the Primary. Probably before most folks even realize what has happened. We know SoWallers are bad about not showing up for the Primary, but turning out big for General. So unless some more good folks sign up, and different parties participate, it will be over quickly.
