So, let me get this straight..........Just because Mr. Griffith is a state trooper and Sheriff Johnson was a trooper, they are the same? No differences? Your conclusions are unsupported and your mentality is unfortunate. Mr. Griffith should not be held responsible for Sheriff Johnson's shortcomings or inability to be an effective Sheriff.
I'm sure Mr. Griffith will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Just because a person has not advanced in rank does not singularly mean they dont have the ability. Many people that work for state and local government turn down offers of advancement in return for remaining in an area they prefer to live in. Reasons can vary from family to business interests.
As far as differences between the two men, thats different.
Ralph and Dan have been troopers for a long time and I appreciate their service. But both men have had the same basic training reinforced over a very long period of time. That training inlcudes line supervision, Field Training Officer and a meriad of other advanced training they attended over the years as dictated by the Highway Patrol. The end result is both men are in essence the same as they were trained when it comes to law enforcement. Otherwise they would have been weeded out by the highway patrol long ago.
Is Ralph a nice guy? probably.
Is Dan a nice guy? probably.
But this position is far too important to entrust someone with based on how nice they are. Is education a factor? Yes. Should proven experience be a factor over formal training? I would say very much yes.
To accuse someones conclusions as being unsupported without any offering to the contrary is in itself unsupported. Too bad the energy cant be focused on asking candidates quesitons and demanding answers from them. Votes should be on the candidate only after fully verifying and validating any claims. I recently read an opinion that partisan politics should be tossed out on this local level. Wow what an idea. Voting for the person and not the party. That folks seems more like a wild dream even more than affordable renewable energy.
