When my children were growing up I always preached to them to stay close and always love each other. I never had a very close relationship with my own siblings and really wanted my children to have that.
As they got older I used to fret to FBB, "they just don't get it! I've tried but, they just don't understand what I am getting at."
Fast forward to my daughter's weeding reception. All the special dances, father-daughter, father -daughter (we had 2), mother-son, etc. Then my two children came out on the dance floor together, and had a brother sister dance!!!! This sounds a little like a love song and it was. The words really had a special meaning to the two of them.
FBB just put his arm around me and said, "I think they got it, Mommy." Still makes me cry. What a sweet memory!

What a great thread. We should make a CD of all the songs so when we need a good cry we can just play it...

and lately Brad Paisley's new song with Andy Griffith, "Waitin' on a Woman" my Dad would have loved this song, because for 60 years this so what he did.

When I picked her up for our first date
