So much for working together!!! :sosad:

Limbaugh told his listeners that he was asked by ?a major American print publication? to offer a 400-word statement explaining his ?hope for the Obama presidency.? He responded:
So I?m thinking of replying to the guy, ?Okay, I?ll send you a response, but I don?t need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails.? (interruption) What are you laughing at? See, here?s the point. Everybody thinks it?s outrageous to say. Look, even my staff, ?Oh, you can?t do that.? Why not? Why is it any different, what?s new, what is unfair about my saying I hope liberalism fails? Liberalism is our problem. Liberalism is what?s gotten us dangerously close to the precipice here. Why do I want more of it? I don?t care what the Drive-By story is. I would be honored if the Drive-By Media headlined me all day long: ?Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails.? Somebody?s gotta say it.

Limbaugh told his listeners that he was asked by “a major American print publication” to offer a 400-word statement explaining his “hope for the Obama presidency.” He responded:
So I’m thinking of replying to the guy, “Okay, I’ll send you a response, but I don’t need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails.” (interruption) What are you laughing at? See, here’s the point. Exactly what one should expect from a fat-ass drug addict.

Spoken like a true patriot.

Limbaugh has got to be terrified that he is about to become irrelevant. If we actually have a political environment where competing points of view are welcomed -- even embraced -- then where does that leave his show, or that of a few others I could mention? If Obama succeeds, the audience willing to tune in for bitter partisanship will dwindle. (This may also apply to Keith Olbermann, when you get right down to it.)

Re: Limbaugh: "I Hope Obama Fails"

As somebody who enjoys listening to Limbaugh (well, used to enjoy as work prevents it now), I must point out that usually when this sort of thing comes out it is often times taken out of context. The last example I am familiar with was something having he said about the troops that Harry Reid used out of context, and in the end Mr Reid ('Dingy Harry' for those in the know:lol:) ended up paying money to some charity as a result of his own gaffe. I forget the details. Anyway, I might be wrong, but often times there is way more to the story when a Limbaugh quote starts making the rounds. Did anyone actually listen to what he said?:dunno:

Re: Limbaugh: "I Hope Obama Fails"

Succeed vs. fail at what exactly? We seem to always talk in generalizations with Obama, I'm kind of tired of that, I'd like some specifics, for example, on the stimulus plan, I think it will fail to have any effect and will in fact cause more problems than in solves. That failure would actually be a good thing long term as it would discredit that type of policy. Solving the rising cost of healthcare and the uninsured? I'd like to see a solution to that, but I question Obama's solutions as being the best. Solving our dependence on foriegn oil? I'd like to see some long term solutions that work for that, I hope Obama succeeds. Do I hope Obama will fail at building up the size of our welfare state - yes. Do I hope Obama will fail at raising the social security tax cap? Yes. I think you have to look at specifics. I have high hopes for Obama on some items and I hope he fails miserably on others. Failure isn't neccassarily a bad thing in my book, it's the only way you learn from your mistakes.

Re: Limbaugh: "I Hope Obama Fails"

My first thought brought to mind Al Franken's book on Rush, Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat, Idiot.--that is the old me, the name calling me, from 2008....

Probably, it comes down to money and ratings for Rush--with even O'Reilly now saying we should try to work with Obama's economic plan, the "White-wing, conservatives" need something to attract viewers and listeners.

I hate that you might be right about my friend Keith, but the extreme Left could become, daresay, has become, just as irrelevant as well under Obama.

Yet they don't realize it yet, and when they do, it will be ugly. I'm thinking in a few years the libnut crowd will be as appealing to moderate democrats as the bible thumpers are to moderate republicans.
