I think sometimes a few people get a banter back & forth and feel like they are the only ones in the lounge.
... like you're 10 years old again sitting at your desk in homeroom, whispering to your best friend about so-and-so's hairdo.

Except everyone "hears" everything "said" here.

In reality, the people here are real. They have real lives, real jobs, real families, real problems, real heartaches, and real feelings. Some people are more sensitive and probably take things, words, etc a little more personal than others.

Just remember that a lot of people look around here and the messages we send reach far and wide.

There is a double standard on the board.

That's exactly why a number of people won't post anymore. I would ask everyone to take their blinders off and ask yourself, "Did I post things that might hurt someone's feeling, or make a snide remark or smilie, did I post something with a mean spirit because someone's thread intimidated me or was it just the person?" Sometimes it's better just to NOT post and leave a person alone. So this is my last post to this thread and I will leave y'all alone.

I appreciate and admire Johnrudy for speaking out about how she feels. It's usually when we keep it in that we turn bitter.

Well put. Seriously, this "inside," grammar school, banter can be totally alienating -- esp. for the non SoWal addict (unlike myself). It must be "shake your head" amusing....

It is a reason that any sensible, intelligent "lurker" would want to remain so!

Hey y'all. I am tied up all day, but wanted to clarify here as best I can. I agree with SSB that we are ALL real here. I agree with IKT that certain statements can be malicious and hurtful. And, absolutely there are two sides to every story. I have a great time even when I am picked on.

I like others here post a new thread about silly things in my life, or when I honestly have no clue how something operates with regard to sowal. I receive intelligent replies, some picking, but all in good fun. I have ignored most of the blatantly ugly ones until recently.

I started this thread based upon comments in random rants. So, this one is all about ClintClint and on my part, absolutely no harm intended.

If it is misconstrued, that is unfortunate and certainly my apologies. I hope the uglies directed at me cease as well, please.

I don't know what the history is here nor is it my business. I like playing here and it is a break from reality. I view sowal as a community, source of info and a lot funn with delightfully crazy people-some more than others.

Hopefully, we can all get along!

Good response Lynnie you have been picked on (which is part of the funn) and have taken it like a champ. Sowal is lucky you came along, we were kinda in a slump around here. You have started some great threads and they have all been funn.
