"jesus is lord" is part of the header....wtf, and why is this a southern tradition?

Using this logic why ban any weapon be it an assault rifle, 50 caliber machine gun, rocket launcher, 105 Howitzer, cruise missiles, tanks, WMD's, etc.? Wouldn't banning weapons of any type be leading down that slippery slope of a ban on all weapons the NRA seems so afraid of? If we are going to take it to the extreme let's open the arms race to all citizens. So what if some people are mentally unstable, why deny others the pleasure of having the ability to vaporize an entire city. There is a whole new industry here for Detroit, personal assualt vehicles in every driveway.
I've never understood how some can argue for limiting the individual rights of those who have never committed a crime while at the same time lamenting the lack of individual rights for those that have. You guys are on the wrong side of the fence in both cases.
I think it is because they are proud. Much like those school/team license tags, stickers, and flags people have on their vehicles. I've seen those "Jesus fish" symbols on many vehicles too. Maybe it helps the driver remember to represent their faith well?
Is it really a Southern tradition? Interesting.
I am simply asking where do you feel the line should be drawn on the weapons ban debate. Should individuals be permitted to own anything they wish no matter it's destructive power? Guns just aren't my thing and if you will notice, I don't believe I have called for a specific ban on anything because I don't know the answer. I would like to know what are the limitations on power that the gun rights activists are willing to support? There has to be one.

This is an absurd argument. How can you ban something that is already illegal to own?
Classic Arms Inc. is this the freedom you want to defend?
I don't care about preserving firearm freedom. I don't own a gun, nor do I really care to own one, nor am I in the NRA or think a bunch of yahoos with pistols constitute a militia. What I do care about is politicians whipping people into a frenzy with resultant passing of needless and difficult to enforce laws. What I don't think you guys understand is the sheer number of firearms that are 'out there' and the expense required to account for them. We sure as heck don't need yet another black hole to dump taxes down analogous to 'the war on drugs'.
