I rode in an '85 or '86 Mazda with those in it, just a couple of years ago. One of my dearest ever friends was driving it, bless her heart (she and hubby are two of the only remaining Luddites in existence). It was decorated with all sorts of signs and bumper stickers with messages that made me a bit uncomfortable. The ceiling fabric was falling down and the A/C was out, but I think the seatbelts still "worked." She took me to a museum while I was in Indianapolis for the weekend and I had one of the most funn times ever. Thanks for making me think of that!

One of the big problems we have with automatic toilets at work is that they don't flush when the power goes out, which happens about once a month. Staff knows to know to go to the building across the way that has old school toilets when that happens but most of the people in the building on a given day aren't staff, and that leads to problems when the non-staff go ahead and use them anyways.

On the bright side, we actually got them to replace the sensor faucets in the downstairs ladies room after several years of them not really working right. Now I just want to get rid of the #$%! sensor lights because they always toggle off for no reason.

I think automatic toilets are creepy. There are some things that I want to control myself.

(I like the toilets that use a foot pedal to flush, though.)

Foot pedal? That couldn't have been an American toilet.

I think that foot pedal operated toilets and sinks would save us a LOT of water and clogged toilets. How much easier would that be? No tiny button, no muliple flushes, just step on a lever. (Obviously it doesn't comply with ADA, but since they require a sink in any accessible stall anyway, it's a moot point.)

If it's a public toilet, I flush it with my foot anyway! And at least 50% of the time the damn automatic faucets don't work!

HELLS YEAH!
I can drive a stick (one of the many things deemed a necessary life skill by my parents) but I sure don't like to!

Though I imagine in a flat area w/o ice & snow it isn't nearly as frustrating.
