oaked or unoaked?

I know I'm supposed to say unoaked, but I prefer oaked. Heck, on a desert island, I wouldn't be too picky. An $8.99 1.5 of Coastal Ridge would be okay with me. ;-)

EPIRB (for when I finally want to leave), deluxe First Aid kit (the one I used to carry on trips had matches and water purification and was in a Pelican case you could use to stun a charging rhino), and a Leatherman.

Condoms are actually a quite useful item to have on a desert island - good for carrying liquids, keeping stuff dry etc.

Seriously - it's the years of training! My Wilderness First Aid certification is long expired, but the memories of using a plastic trash bag for a raincoat, twig chopsticks, and bending a sapling down to suspend items over the fire live on. (raincoat, most utensils, and grate all lost shooting rapids (and dumping) on day 11 of a 34 day trip).

Gawd knows I'd much rather be using condoms for their intended purpose, but there is a reason they put them in emergency kits!
