Heavy Folks and Global Warming

I will be sooooo happy when the year 2012 arrives. That is the year that will usher a new, prolonged period of global cooling and we can then put this whole global warming garbage behind us. Of course, we won't. The GW crowd is already saying that global cooling is a symptom of global warming. :roll:

OTOH, we have the Nostradamus/Maya/Planet X crowd that assures us the world will come to an end in 2012.

2013 will be a glorious year! A little cool but glorious nonetheless.

Oh dear. This presents a problem. Lean people will have to wear more layers because they have less blub on their bodies to insulate themselves. More layers means more clothing. More clothing means feeding more sheep to make the wool to keep them warm, which means more food production to feed the sheep and so on and so forth. Damm! This all sounds more and more like a conspiracy.

Airlines have already instituted policies for larger people - but it's due to them "spilling over" into other passengers' space, not based on poundage.

If you can't get into the seat, fasten the seatbelt w/ one extender, or put the armrest down once seated, the airline will first try to accommodate you by moving you to a seat next to an empty seat, but if unavailable, you have to pay for a second seat. No comment as to how practical this is considering fewer flights means most have multiple person standby lists and thus few empty seats.

Exit rows used to be the chosen refuge of the long legged, but that has become another "paid for" amenity. :angry:

No, the seats in front of the exit rows don't recline. Exit rows have much more room than a bulkhead, but bulkhead is also nice because noone can recline back into you.

I don't think fat people are causing global warming, I think the same things causing global warming also make a lot of people fat.
