Commuting long distances by car, suburban sprawl, box stores, mega-food chain restaurants, large portion sizes of processed foods, and artificial environments all contribute to weight gain. They also contribute to global warming.

One of the most frequent suggestions you will hear to lose weight is to walk more, to take stairs, to park further away, to eat less processed foods etc.

The reason many Europeans are thinner isn't just because of their diet, it's because they walk and bike much more than we do. When I lived in Europe I would think nothing of walking a couple miles to run an errand, see a movie, go to a restaurant, and you carried your groceries home or pulled them in a basket. It adds up for your body and the planet!

Why yes, where have you been? A large heavenly body, code named Planet X is going to collide with Earth. The collision will wipe us out. This version will be End of the World 1,285,374 or therebouts.

 That is always a very good question......I don't know, actually! But, I have had funn along the way!

Oh good, I am going to put off having my floors refinished then.

Yeah - procrastinate while you can with no guilt!

No, the seats in front of the exit rows don't recline. Exit rows have much more room than a bulkhead, but bulkhead is also nice because noone can recline back into you.

I don't think fat people are causing global warming, I think the same things causing global warming also make a lot of people fat.

You're right again! And, I guess I also meant recline instead of decline! Whatever.....I have way too much swirling around in my head!

Does this mean I don't have to do my taxes?

3 year window......don't do those taxes!

Slackers. No wonder their economies are all in ruin.

This has got to be the best thread ever. After weighing all of the comments, I have come to the conclusion that President Obama must regulate people's weight. We can save the planet and solve the health care crisis at the same time (2 birds with 1 stone if you will). The first lady might have to purchase a few credits from her husband under the new guidelines, but its all for the betterment of humanity. Thanks for all of the input.

Yea--if anybody here is ever fortunate enough to travel outside the U.S for longer than 7 days, they begin to "get it,"and can easily adopt a healthy lifestyle, and one that improves the lives of the Whole. I spent 18 days in Spain last August, it is amazing how quickly we can adopt newer, healthier, more concerned, and less glutunous lifestyles.

Yes, it is very easy to spot Americans in Europe, and I am not talking about the white tennis shoes, dark socks, and fanny packs!

So, between this and our Sun in a cooling phase, we are now potentially looking at Global Cooling! I want my Peace Prize! And, I guess I need someone to write a song for me with it being a very convenient truth.

You have to reinvent the internet, first!

Yeah...but it can't be implemented without a 3 billion dollar feasibility study, first. Gotta create jobs where ya can, ya know?!
