...those would have been some super duper carazy germs! It was ironic...I hit the parallel road from your house to go Publix and bammmm...the throat just felt scratchy! I am loaded up on Zyrtec, Vit C and Hall's. It's all good!

Sorry you girls got this stuff. Daughter has had it twice as well. Now she's been prescribed steroids and an inhaler to try to get rid of it.

Speaking of swine flu, a friend of mine has a pet pig that does children's parties, etc. She contacted UGA vet school to see if she could get swine flu from her pig. They told her if it didn't seem sick, she was okay. I got an email from her:

"Thankfully, Matti, our pet pig, used at farm-themed birthday parties, will not lose her job. She has been living large and has been doing a lot of pork-barrel spending. Hidden earmarks include her pink diamond earrings, not seen in the picture."

BB would love this pig -- just her colors!

Good thing I didn't get tickets to see Obama at Fox High School Wednesday in Missouri, just 1/2 hour from my house. But then again I would have to shake his hand? It is interesting how quickly something like this can spread from country to country....

If this gets bad it's not just about washing hands, this is gross, but years ago when I worked 2nd shift I would stop at a favorite St. Louis burger chain where you can sit by the grill, watch your food being made. After I ordered to go, I waited, happened to look over at the grill, the guy cooking had a bad cold, his nose was dripping onto the grill about every 7 seconds. I got the manager, told him loud enough where other people in the place could hear what was going on, I was out the door, never went back in there again. My only mistake was not calling the health department the next day.

Hi neighbor....I live very close to Arnold too. Driving down 55 this morning on my way to work, Fox's football field was swarming with police. Haven't heard yet if his helicopter landed there or he went by motorcade.

Kitty - they've closed a few school around here due to confirmed and suspected "H1N1 virus".
- in Richardson, Dallas, and Cleburne. Cleburne even canceled their Cinco de Mayo festival.

edit: Now all UIL interscholastic competitions have been suspended until 5/11.

Swine Flu

Someone asked about testing to see if it is the swine.. Here in Alabama my daughter works for a pediatrician. They had a meeting last night about this and told his employees that the CDC is requiring them to give Rolenza and Tamiflu to the patients of suspected swine flu. He did say that these meds in his opiniion will not work because it didnt work on the flu strain we had this past winter. He also said that masks are not effective but to carry klenex and germ-X or something to disinfect the hands at all time. The klenex is to turn knobs or open doors. Its a must to keep hands washed. If a patient comes in our office here showing signs of swine, they are tested and HAVE to be in hospital under quaratine for at least 7 days til the CDC gets the results back. Scary thought huh?

Ok, I hit 99.1 today. If my temp is normally 97.6 what does that mean? All I know is I felt horrible...more horrible than the past two weeks anyway and my voice, nowhere near coming back. I have not really spoken to anyone in over a week. WTF

I just sweated most of my swine out of me. Y'all go workout - that'll do it.

Bluemtrunner, is it allergies? That's what I think this is, but for someone who isn't allergic to anything except timothy grass (and, I have no idea where he hangs out), I got hit with allergies pretty hard this Spring.

Jitty, give us the update when you have it. What language will the new republic be speaking? Texican?
