Ahh, not so fast! Gov. Perry wants federal $$ for swine flu help. Guess he doesn't think we can handle that on our own. Plus all those wildfires - He's quite willing to request Feds help out with that too. He's full of so much hot air, he could have probably blown the fires out on his own!

Maybe we can secede after we get all our problems squared away. ;-)

Bluemtrunner, is it allergies? That's what I think this is, but for someone who isn't allergic to anything except timothy grass (and, I have no idea where he hangs out), I got hit with allergies pretty hard this Spring.

Nope not allergies. I have dealt with allergies and asthma for 14 years but have no symptoms of either right now. No sinusitis, no strep, no ear infection...NO VOICE and I feel like crud.

Ok, I hit 99.1 today. If my temp is normally 97.6 what does that mean? All I know is I felt horrible...more horrible than the past two weeks anyway and my voice, nowhere near coming back. I have not really spoken to anyone in over a week. WTF

I hope you feel better soon. I spent last Friday-Sunday in the bed. It hit me hard. I still have a reall nasty cough. I have felt terrible. I had my flu shot in October, but I swear it didn't work with whatever is going around. I am sore all over from coughing. There is a plus side to whatever it is that I have though, I haven't had an ounce of an appetite. It is weird, I never, ever crave fruit. But that that is all that has sounded good to me since last Thursday. So I have lived off of Fruit Salad and Cottage Cheese for the last few days. I am going to try and get a grilled chicken salad down tonight. I didn't go to the doctor. I know I probably should have, but you know when you just don't feel like going anywhere, even to the doc? Anyway, I think I am on the road to recovery, and I hope you will be soon as well!!!!

Kitty - they've closed a few school around here due to confirmed and suspected "H1N1 virus".
- in Richardson, Dallas, and Cleburne. Cleburne even canceled their Cinco de Mayo festival.

edit: Now all UIL interscholastic competitions have been suspended until 5/11.

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Madison County Public Health Officer Dr. Larry Robey says there's no need for the community to panic but all elementary to high school-aged children need to stay at home and away from each other after area officials decided to close schools because of two probable cases of swine flu.

I know DD, this is starting to really stink. Our Jazz/Dinner Dance is canceled for Saturday and I just made 40 centerpieces and have them spread out across my living room. Guess we may have to walk around them for a couple more weeks.

The band is schedule to go to Orlando end of next week and that is still on but shaky. Bill is suppose to help drive an equipment truck through on Thurs. and Fri. ..Who knows!

Jackie's part time job at "Pump It Up" bounce house will likely be affected too, 'cause birthday parties are likely to be canceled. She really likes that money too. Ha!

A school in Hebron, Lewisville ISD, had a confirmed case also and closed. I think this is just the beginning!

County health officials say they are erring on the side of caution to keep it from spreading. And the cases are in different schools and different school districts so the possibility of spread is there. "Probable" cases keep increasing and are tending to turn into "confirmed" cases more than not.

Closings seem to be largely preventative to slow the spread. A toddler in Brownsville, TX is the only death in US I have heard of.
