You don't know anything about him except what you see on TV and you can make a drastic judgment of his character like that? This is sad.....:dunno:

Aren't you guilty of drastic judgment yourself? How do you know where people get their information? Some people don't even watch TV. Some Read the National Review. Some Get on the Guardian UK website. Others read biographies. Much has been written about Cheney by himself, his friends, and his enemies. Maybe there are facets of his character that you don't get from watching TV.

wow

yeah republicans with the exception of rush limbaugh are addicted to power and nothing else. They suffer withdrawal when they run out of it. Democrats are too busy trying to live life and love it. They may have lots of addictions but power isn't one of them. Sometimes i wish it were because perhaps the country would be better off. They almost seem content to lose it and then moan about it, all they while enjoying the finer things in life like dijon mustard and unprotected sex with a diversity of strangers, often in combination!:rotfl:;-)
talk about out of touch. This is got to be the silliest post ive read on here. Olby has cleary been serving the kool-aid.

I read this interesting take on Cheney by a Republican, Col. Lawrence B. Wilkerson, who is former chief of staff of the Department of State during the term of Secretary of State Colin Powell. The video interview with him on the Maddow show is also worthwhile.

The Truth About Richard Bruce Cheney:
"................. What I am saying is that no torture or harsh interrogation techniques were employed by any U.S. interrogator for the entire second term of Cheney-Bush, 2005-2009. So, if we are to believe the protestations of Dick Cheney, that Obama's having shut down the "Cheney interrogation methods" will endanger the nation, what are we to say to Dick Cheney for having endangered the nation for the last four years of his vice presidency?

Likewise, what I have learned is that as the administration authorized harsh interrogation in April and May of 2002--well before the Justice Department had rendered any legal opinion--its principal priority for intelligence was not aimed at pre-empting another terrorist attack on the U.S. but discovering a smoking gun linking Iraq and al-Qa'ida. ......................"

I usually like most Slate articles, but this one was a waste of ink, or in this case a ridiculous waste of gigabytes. There is so much going on the world and this reporter decides to write about age old party political hegemony. If there were pictures and captions I would have thought I was reading Perez Hilton.

Scooterbug????

Really???
Everytime we have a civil discussion , there's an internet link in there......you make the assumption

I don't know where anyone's information comes from. All I'm saying is that to say he wants the country to be attacked again is ridiculous....

good with that???

I can assume your answer....

Sorry, maybe I went a bit too far there, I'm busted!

But I think it would make him feel like "his" dangerous policies were what kept Americans safe, and I really believe that is a sham.
Is it a "sham", to use an old, but accurate saw, to say were were not attacked again?

I get my information from a wide variety of sources - but obviously the easiest way for me to post a source/info on Sowal is via the internet. Saying go look at this newspaper, book, or magazine near my armchair isn't quite so effective.

Yes.

That's like saying all cars/highways are safer because Grandma hasn't gotten in a car accident recently. I might suggest that while she hasn't gotten in an accident, many others have.

Thank goodness for the internet or I'd have to wait on the US postal service to deliver magazine articles....Isn't technology wonderful..
