I knew Adam wasn't going to win it when they gave him so much spotlight for the whole show. They always give the loser the lion's share of the stage. You'd think they'd vary the formula. I mean, I'm as dense as they come and I've already got that one figured out!

Darlene, I had a gut feeling too. I told the kids last night--but I stopped short of saying he would win. Didn't wanna jinx him. I have to say though that I was still shocked when they announced. Maybe I jinxed Adam by posting so many times he was gonna win.And, you all are right, that is a crappy song. If I was Kara, I wouldn't claim it.
Well, the thing is up until Kris made it to the top two I thought Adam would win it. But, when Danny was gone I knew then that Kris would win. I think Adam is an awesome, awesome performer and will be iconic I predict. But if he had won I don't think his career would have been as good as I feel it is going to be without winning. Kris did have all of the young girls voting for him I am sure. And I am going to say this and I hope I am wrong about it, but I also feel like there a lot of people out there that did not vote for Adam because he is gay. Whether they liked him or not, they let that fact sway their votes. I personally think that is heartbreaking, but I really feel like that was part of it. It saddens me to think that we are still living in a world that doesn't accept everyone for who they are. It is just sad to me.

I've already declared myself dense so I'll go ahead and say this but I had no I idea he was gay. (Who said he was?) The thought never occurred to me. Lots of theatre rats like to dress over-the-top, especially the really talented and dedicated ones like Adam. I asumed he was nothing but theatrical. I can imagine that would be off-putting to lots of Idol voters who don't know how to take such creativity. Idol is pretty main-stream and safe. I bet Adam lost because he was too edgy not because he's gay. Maybe America wanted soothing and sweet rather than Adam's brand of high drama.

You think Adam knew he was gonna come in second? The more I watch, the more I think it's all contrived & convoluted. It's still great entertainment though.
If that's the case, Darlene, then yes, it is sad. I think maybe America is still a little more main stream than Adam's style. I know the eyeliner, costumes and theatrics didn't do much for me, but it was the screaming that turned me off. I could care less about his personal life, but Lord Help, please don't make me listen to his screaming again. (Insert nail going through head smilie here).
