Right here!
Yeah, compare less than a million apes to, what is it these days, 6 billion people. My point is that the waste in produce alone goes into land fills as opposed to be composted, used as feed, or other reuse methods.

You must be one of those people that can't see the hurricane because there's a drop of water on your glasses.

I didn't realize landfills were sanitized, irradiated, and hermetically sealed time capsules of picky shoppers, my bad.

How can you define something we did as being a "mess"? Are you saying the consequences of our existence are somehow 'synthetic' in the grand scheme of things?

Hmmmm - not sure I understand where you are going with the second part of your question. As far as human making a "mess" - well, I have to ask - where did the pollution and toxic waste, acid rain, and unclean drinking water, etc... come from? Is that part of some grand scheme of things?

Look, I wrote in my last post that we MUST all be on the same page and that we are looking for the same outcome whether we call it global warming or just good stewardship. Obviously, I was mistaken as this is going nowhere.

Sorry, I won't play anymore.

I think the definition comes from scientific arrogance.

:dunno:

Like I said in the post prior. I'm done - discussion is one thing - I don't mind difference of opinion, but snippy little one liners ain't my style and doesn't promote thinking and growth on the subject.

I guess I was just trying to be "deep". In the grand scheme of things, we and our actions and our effects on the planet are as natural as anything else that happens on the planet.

Here are the most important parts of the article:

An EPA official told FOXNews.com on Monday that Carlin, who is an economist -- not a scientist -- included "no original research" in his report. The official said that Carlin "has not been muzzled in the agency at all," but stressed that his report was entirely "unsolicited."

"It was something that he did on his own," the official said. "Though he was not qualified, his manager indulged him and allowed him on agency time to draft up ... a set of comments."
Faux News spins this to sound like there was some EPA-commissioned report, drafted by scientists, now being suppressed to hide the truth about global warming. Even though the article includes the more truthful quotes above, the headline is deceptive and could cause someone to reconsider their views. Fox knows many people read just the headlines.

Fox has a history of pushing the ridiculous idea that there is a significant percentage of scientists who believe man-made global warming is not real. The reality is that 97% of climatologists believe in man-made global warming.

Sometimes it's just way too easy to expose Fox News for the FAUX NEWS that it is. :rotfl:

While I am not going to defend Fox, I might point out that your cited CNN article is crap, an opinion poll, and nowhere near a 'consensus'.

It's not so much the article I'm concerned with, but the point that the vast majority of scientists believe MMGW is real.

I also never said it was a consensus, but it is my personal opinion that the general consensus of climate scientists is that global warming is real and is man-made.

Here is a good article that backs up my opinion:
BEYOND THE IVORY TOWER: The Scientific Consensus on Climate Change -- Oreskes 306 (5702): 1686 -- Science
