Obama's approval ratings have eroded even more in the last 30 days....by 5 points.

49% of Americans disappove of his healthcare reform.

Only 37% approve of Sonia Sotomayor.

Interesting! This seems quite different from the consensus on sowal.com!

Some people that might feel different may also feel this is something they cannot say outloud, thus, less threads stating so. I think Obama is a nice guy. But I don't care who is in charge, I want the government to leave me alone and get out of our lives.

I liked Bush just like I do Obama, personally. But for those who hated Bush, just think. If we give the government continually more power, one day, we may get another President, in charge, who you hate also. Even if you think Obama and/or Palosi are brilliant, what if the power they give to themselves is one day run by a Bush, who you hated and distrusted. What if they control it all one day. Would you want that?

We need to pay taxes at every turn. We need licenses and permits and our schools are run by the government and on and on. I understand having an organization to a society. But our government is so entrinched into our lives it is discouraging to me. They have surpassed organizing an efficiency and have become, us. They are our brain center. We have to pass everything by them.

When we are born and on through past our death they want something from us. They say they want to take care of us. Isn't that nice. I say, leave us the heck alone and let us be responsible for ourselves.

Sotomayor will be confirmed because there is so much control in one party, there is no possibility of a filibuster. She isn't a popular choice among the people, particularly the firefighters - who have had very rich life experiences as well.

Presidents' approval ratings typically drop, but not as much as Obama's has in such a short period.

The ads on TV against a gov't run health care plan are extremely powerful.

All I can say is 2010 is going to be an interesting mid-term election.

I agree, MikeCat - I like Obama, but not huge government and our government is ginormous right now and has the potential to grow exponentially during this Administration. YOWSA!

I don't trust surveys and the clip below sums up why. It is a cool piece of info and stop watching the news. It will un-groove your brain.:creepy:

"Do Surveys Reflect the Truth?

Critics of the surveys are quick to note that such rankings are biased, depending on who is doing the ranking. And how exactly is greatness defined? Presidents who served during a time of war or acute economic crisis would have a certain advantage over those whose terms were relatively peaceful and prosperous. Also, the passage of time can have an effect on how a president is ranked, given that new information or analysis can change the way we view a particular chief executive.

Still, the survey results can be a fun and interesting departure point for learning more about the relative strengths and weaknesses of the presidents. Here is a sampling of some surveys that can be viewed on the web.

Those ads that are running against government run health care are paid for by you if you have insurance. Nice to see where your premiums are going huh?

That just proves as I have always said-- American just don't know what is good for them. There is a group that will always eventually follow suit "kicking and screaming' into a very bright future that will benefit all of us (eventually) with kudos to our wonderful President Obama and Judge Sonya Sotomayor.
I am optimistic!
