Based on those reviews, I doubt I would. C- and C+ and that high of a score seems to be solely based on the fact that it is cheap.

I don't have anything against cheap wine (hello Chan's Outlet), but this sounds like bad wine.

Even w/ $2 Chuck I was told to buy a bottle to taste in the parking lot and if that one is okay, then buy more.

I always tell people to buy one bottle of each type of $2 chuck -- and do a taste test. There will be one or two that you like guaranteed!! I like the Cab, Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc. I do not like the Merlot or the Chard -- but will drink those after a glass or two of better wine -- when my taste buds are pretty much numb. (Your first glass of wine is the most important, IMHO) I think it's a great wine to take to the beach. You aren't as upset if a little sand gets in your glass of $2 wine!!

My perfect beach
I've tried them and think they are fine, especially for the price, but I'm no wine snob. I just enjoy my daily glass of mellow. . . er, merlot.

My mother bought some and we tried it, I think it was the Pinot Grigio, and it was not bad. It's not Kendal Jackson, but mother is disappointed she can't find any more locally. My mother is the type that always has a stock of very good wine in the house and the Oak Leaf wine is good and the price makes it better!

Cheap red wines fit the bill for making sangria in the summer, since you're adding so many other ingredients like fruit and the wine's only a base, or in the winter when you're cooking up a big pot of boeuf bougiuignon.

Does cheap red wine promote cheap shots?
